XdomView (Version 2.1)
 Protein Domain and Exon Position
Visualization

The following is an example of XdomView application

1. PDB code list classified by Fedorov et al (2001)*

Non-ACR
ACR

The authors have analyzed the role and origin of intron using the full set of available proteins with known three-dimensional structures  that have homologs with intron positions recorded in GenBank. A subset of 407 (131 Ancient Conservered; 276 Non-ancient Conserved) non-redundant protein sequences with known 3D structure in the Protein Data Bank (PDB) were analysed for protein module boundaries, intron phase and intron position correlations. Here we have given link to these protein chains for domain regions and the intron position in the homologous proteins in GenBank for visualization. Refer to the paper for more details.

2. BLAST Service

For an input protein sequence, runs BLAST against ExInt Database and displays the ouput in an graphical form indicating the intron positions and phases.
